Step by step guide to create newsletter signup option for your subscribers
If you are a serious and professional blogger, I don’t find any need to explain the importance of maintaining a list of your blog’s subscribers. But if you are still not thinking to create a list, you must read about it’s importance.
In the current post, I will be explaining the steps to create a list of your subscribers. I prefer mailchimp platform for this purpose. And the best thing about it is that it is free.
Now lets get started.
The very first thing you need to do is create an account on mailchimp.
Fill the basic details to complete the signup form.
As you click on ”create my account”, you will get to see something like shown below
Click on ”Lists” tab. Then on the right top corner, click on + create list.
Next, you will have to fill some details of your list that you are setting up.
Mailchimp will automatically provide you an example before filling up all these details.
After filling all these details, your list is now ready to use and you can now add subscribers to it.
Now click on the drop-down button exactly adjacent to stats and select ”Signup forms” option.
You can see it here.
It will ask you for the type of signup form and provide you 3 options. If you use wordpress, you have to select the last one that is ”form integration”.
You will see wordpress option with something written with it like- add a signup form to your wordpress blog. Click on learn more, you will get a download button to download the mailchimp plugin.
Click on download and upload that plugin to your wordpress administrator.
Go to mailchimp plugin settings and customize it according to your blog’s layout.
Meanwhile you need to go to your mailchimp ”account settings”. Click on ”extras” and then on ”API keys”.
You have to generate an APT key and update this key in the mailchimp plugin settings.
Now, go to widgets under appearance tab. You will see a mailchimp widget. Just drag and drop it where-ever you want to create newsletter signup form for your visitors.
You can now create and manage as many lists as you want by following these steps and start converting your visitors into regular visitors and then into your customers.
If you have anything in your mind, don’t hesitate to put it in the comment section.
